Nancy Walter was kind enough to send photos of her finished T-shirt quilt and her grandson receiving it at Christmas. Thanks for sharing!
Last winter we decided to do a crayon challenge. Members drew crayons and made small quilts using only black, white, and the color they drew. Quilts from this challenge are on display at Fauquier Hospital through the end of August. Below is a slide show of the quilts, but they are better if seen in person.
Please join us on August 28.
This past weekend we again participated in the Civil War Weekend at Sky Meadows State Park. The weekend is part of the park’s Fall Farm Festival and is designed to illustrate life on a Virginia farms during the Civil War. Unlike the past two years, we had clear, albeit cold, weather. Since we were in the wash house with a fireplace going, we were fairly warm except when the wind blew gusts through the doorway. The slideshow has photos of the some the costumed volunteers, as well as our display.
